Broad Bay Boating Club - Multipurpose Community Facility........ coming soon

  • The 2015 AGM approves the committee progress the idea of rebuilt the ageing club facilities with a new purpose built clubrooms, with a design that will incorporate some of the icon value of the existing structure.

  • Concept plans are created by Jeremy Whittam - Architectural Draughting Studio

  • Community Consultation meetings held, including gathering; needs, wishes and ideas for planning

  • Resource consent is granted by the Otago Regional Council (May 2016)

  • Aurora agreed to put new overhead wires and our old supply underground (Sept 2017)

  • A Feasibility Study is commissioned. Josh Bruce of Impact Consultants (published March 2018)

  • The funding drive is officially launched, with invited guests and opened by the mayor, with the purpose to inform and draw in wider community support. (October 2018)

  • Structural Engineering & Architectural Drawings completed (March 2020)

  • Further consultation with Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou; agreeing to support our need to move the footprint of our planned rebuild (April 2021)

  • Variation to Resource Consent lodged (May 2021)

  • Major funding secured to start rebuild project (May 2021)

  • Building Consent application ready to be lodged (June 2021)

  • The Peninsula Connection (road widening) section 4 completed (June 2021)

  • Variation to Resource Consent successful (July 2021)

  • DCC Building Consent issued (Feb 2022)
