Introducing our Sailability Otago Trust:
Our future goal is to create at Broad Bay Boating Club (BBBC) a hub of inclusive sailing in Otago Harbour. It will be part of 'Sailability' which is a global movement aimed at making the sport accessible for all.
We endeavor to provide access to safe sailing, to enrich the lives of Dunedin people with an intellectual or physical disability. Through sailing we will enable them to experience adventure and freedom, encouraging mobility, self-confidence and pride through achievements on the water.
The proposed plan will include a fleet of specifically designed Hansa sailing dinghies. The events will be either combined with other races and community sailings of BBBC or individual sailing days.
All sailing days will be held at Broad Bay Boating Club (BBBC).
At present times we are laying the foundation to this project. We have successfully established the Sailability Otago Trust and continue to work along side Broad Bay Boating Club particular through their rebuilding phase.
Port Otago has generously and kindly helped us in our humble beginnings with a donation in form of a shipping container. This container was delivered to our club site and is now the new storage home for our boats and/or safety boat.
Sailability Otago will be closely affiliated with Broad Bay Boating Club to be able to share equipment and storage, personal and expertise.

The Hansa boats have arrived! Sailability Otago taken delivery of two Hansa loan boats. Thanks to the support of NZ Hansa Class Association and Sailability Auckland to get them shipped down from Auckland and then delivered to our door by the team at McCormick Carrying Ltd.
