The Vision

Broad Bay Boating Club is embarking on an exciting project to rebuild our ageing facilities and create a functional, versatile, future proofed, multipurpose community facility in the heart of Broad Bay.

The proposed building redevelopment will replace the existing boat storage shed and second storey committee room, realign and upgrade the wharf and construct a new accessible meeting space, with outdoor deck area, kitchen, wet access race briefing area, changing rooms, toilets and showers.

In addition to supporting our primary function as a boating club, we also envisage the creation of an attractive multipurpose meeting place to be used by numerous community and youth groups.

To date we have developed preliminary design work, obtained initial costings, conducted various consultation and secured resource consent from the Otago Regional Council. A feasibility study has been completed and provides positive independent assessment of the project.

The goal is to have this project completed in time to celebrate the clubs centenary in 2023.
